On-duty firefighter deaths in 2019
According to the National Fire Protection Agency, more than 60 firefighters died while on duty in 2014, with more than half of those who died suffering from heart attacks or being killed while responding to or returning from an emergency incident, and five firefighters dying while participating in training activities.
